Fasta is built around a simple promise: your data stays on your device.

What We Collect
Fasta does not require an account, does not run ads, and does not use third-party advertising analytics. Your core fasting data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate a Fasta account server that receives your fasts, weight, water intake, measurements, mood, energy, readiness history, voice journals, or progress photos.
What Is Stored Locally
Your name, fasting plans, fasting history, water entries, weight entries, body measurements, mood and energy check-ins, readiness history, recap preferences, voice journal text, progress photo references, settings, subscription app user ID, and achievement unlocks are stored in a local database inside the app's private sandbox. When you delete the app, this data is removed by iOS.
Apple Health
If you grant permission, Fasta can read body weight, water intake, sleep duration, and HRV from Apple Health and write weight and water entries you log in Fasta. This data flows directly between Fasta and Apple Health on your device. Readiness and coach suggestions are wellness guidance only, not medical advice.
Notifications
Fasta uses local notifications for fasting milestones, fast completion, and optional reminders. You can disable notifications in iOS Settings or inside Fasta.
Voice Journals
If you choose to use voice journaling, Fasta asks for microphone and speech recognition permission. Voice journaling is optional. Audio is used to create a private journal transcription on your device and is not sent to a Fasta server.
Photos and Camera
If you attach a progress photo, Fasta asks for camera or photo library permission. Photos stay on your device and are only used for the progress entry you choose to create.
Partner Fasting and Local Network
If you use partner fasting, Fasta may ask for local network permission so nearby devices can connect directly. This feature is designed for peer-to-peer use without Fasta accounts or a Fasta server.
Purchases and Premium
Fasta Premium subscriptions are purchased through Apple. Fasta uses RevenueCat to check available products, purchases, restores, and Premium entitlement status. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user ID and purchase entitlement information for subscription management. This is not used for advertising tracking.
Data Export
You can export data, reports, backups, or recap images through iOS sharing tools. Where you send those files is your choice. Fasta does not receive a copy.
Third-Party Services
Fasta uses Apple services for App Store purchases, Apple Health, notifications, speech recognition, camera/photo permissions, and local networking. Fasta uses RevenueCat for subscription product and entitlement management. Fasta does not use third-party advertising trackers.
